Community Breakfast (Pachi Atukulu + Chai), 17th January, 2022

I invited the Prayogillu community to share breakfast with me (Madison, USA) virtually. Prayogillu volunteers prepared Poha and Tea for villagers. More than 70 people joined for conversation with me while having poha and tea. This community breakfast was an attempt to rediscover my relations with the village. Prayogillu community and I engaged in a conversation for more than one hour. We were talking about climate, health, and life. We were also talking about our relations when I was in the village. Community breakfast successfully created a conversation between the local community and me as well as I rediscovered my connections again with the same community. 

Community breakfast between Madison (USA) & Vellulla (India), February 17, 2022

I invited the Madison community to have breakfast at 2nd Remote Prayogillu, Backspace Gallery, the USA virtually with the Prayogillu community in India. Ten people registered for breakfast (Poha + Vegan Tea) from Madison. More than ten people from Prayogillu participated in the community breakfast. Both communities quickly engaged in conversation while having Poha and chai. Prayogillu asked Madison certain questions about climate, festivals, rituals, language, famous places, and culture. Madison community responded to Prayogillu's questions. In this way, both sides were responding to each other with questions and answers. This conversation converted into a cultural exchange that both communities were engaging and active participants during their breakfast.

Cultural Community breakfast (Sev Usal + Tea), 10th March, 2022

Prayogillu and Artists in Residence (Stuti Bakshi, Karan Ganatra, and Sanjay Porwal) organized a cultural community breakfast at Prayogillu. They prepared Gujarati breakfast "Sev Usal" and Tea. Prayogillu invited the local community to take part in a cultural community breakfast. More than 150 people participated in this breakfast. Artists from Gujarat and the local community engaged in conversation while having Sev Usal. Prayogillu is using various food methods to create a cultural dialogue between communities. It also leads to relations and friendships between disparate communities.
